Bronze medal, reunion letter, and printed list of Confederate veterans who attended the University of Virginia [manuscript], 1912.

The collection contains a bronze medal, two inches in diameter, with obverse inscription "University of Virginia 1912" and reverse inscription "Non ille pro caris amicis aut patria timidus perire" and "1861-65 The gift of alma mater to her son." A letter, 1912 July 1, from William M. Thornton, Chairman of the Committee on the Confederate Veteran Alumni Reunion, to Hite forwards the medal and contains a holograph note translating the inscription into English. A list of surviving Confederate alumni [who attended the reunion?] is included.
